Ohio State is seeking a talented leader to elevate the advancement office at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center to new heights - capitalizing on the existing, successful development efforts and coalescing them into greater success. In addition to leading fundraising efforts for the entire medical center, including the James Cancer Center, this individual will oversee all advancement efforts taking place in the seven health colleges of the University; this includes the Colleges of Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing, Optometry, Public Health, Pharmacy, Social Work, and Veterinary Medicine. The Senior Director of Development will understand the mission, needs and value proposition of the university and the Fisher College of Business (FCOB) and build relationships with prospective donors to increase philanthropic support. Donors such as alumni, friends, and/or grateful patients will be identified by listening for opportunities to align their interests and passions with opportunities to donate to the university. This role has a heightened focus on identifying, engaging and building a portfolio of donors who have a desire to support entrepreneurship efforts, namely at our Keenan Center for Entrepreneurship.

Donors such as alumni, friends, and/or grateful patients will be identified by listening for opportunities to align their interests and passions with opportunities to donate to the university.

Working in support of the Colleges and Units Advancement Team, the Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing professional front-line administrative support for multiple senior leaders; proactively reviews, coordinates, maintains and prioritizes complex schedules and visits; proactively plans for meeting needs including agendas, briefings, and other written materials; arranges and coordinates travel plans, including mileage; submits reimbursements and other financial paperwork, including requisitions authorizations; screens and handles sensitive or complex inquiries; interfaces with a variety of people including major donors, volunteers, university leadership, faculty, staff, and general public; creates and maintains reports and records; types technical and/or confidential materials; records and transcribes minutes; maintains and safeguards donor contribution records of a highly confidential nature. The Administrative Assistant is expected to be able to effectively manage multiple priorities and competing time demands and provide exceptional customer service.

The Director of Development develops and implements short- and long-term plans to secure foundation grants targeted at the $100,000 level and above. This position will work with a variety of colleges and constituent units to proactively assist in identifying new foundation prospects and move them through the fundraising continuum to solicitation and stewardship. Assists with raising the Foundation Engagement profile campus-wide through effective collaboration with the Office of Sponsored Programs and unit-based grant management offices. Engages college and unit leaders in developing and implementing long-term strategies for top foundation donors and prospects. Responsibilities will also include developing fundraising projections and managing personal plans to achieve identified annual goals. This position requires exceptional interpersonal skills and a highly self-motivated individual who enjoys working in a team environment. Some travel is required and this position will work a hybrid-remote schedule.

Preparation for the “ask” will include creative and strategic utilization of resources to determine the prospective donor’s capacity for giving, build their interest, raise their sights, sustain their engagement and obtain a gift. Success in the position will be guided by annual metrics such as number of monthly meetings, number of gift commitments, and dollars raised. Central resources such as a robust donor database, and reporting and analytics tools exist to help the role achieve goals and manage an allocated budget.

The Advancement Events and Operations Event Manager will provide oversight, planning, and execution for events within Advancement and across the University. The Event Manager position acts independently, playing a key role in aligning events with the strategic vision expanding awareness of advocacy for, engagement in and giving to Ohio State. The Event Manager plans, implements, and leads sophisticated one-time and ongoing events and provides strategy and direction for events, audiences, venues and vendor selection across Advancement and the university. This role maintains a project portfolio that include signature events that have the highest visibility and distinguished attendees. These signature events include, but are not limited to, university milestones, building openings, groundbreakings, and chair installations. These signature events involve the highest-level stakeholders across the university, including Ohio State Boards: Board of Trustees, Alumni Association Board of Directors, Foundation Board, Wexner Medical Center Board and Alumni Advisory Council, President and President’s Cabinet, Principal Gift Donors, and Ohio State Athletics Directors and Coaches, to name a few.

The Engagement and Alumni Relations Senior Associate broadens and deepens alumni and constituent engagement with the College of Education and Human Ecology (EHE) by developing purposeful, meaningful, impactful, and mutually beneficial relationships with alumni, corporate partners, supporters and internal colleagues of the college. The Senior Associate is an official liaison between EHE’s Office of Advancement and the college’s volunteer advisory boards and the faculty who manage them. The role develops, implements, and evaluates new or existing activities, programs, services, and communications within the assigned areas.

The Engagement and Alumni Relations, Senior Associate supports The Ohio State University Alumni Association's alumni engagement goals by implementing assigned engagement plans, supporting volunteer leaders, coordinating alumni programs, and maintaining relationships with assigned alumni clubs and societies. As a member of the Connections team within OSUAA, this position serves as the primary relationship manager for an assigned portfolio of moderately engaged alumni clubs and societies, using professional judgment to assess needs, provide guidance, and support activities that strengthen alumni engagement, volunteer leadership, and connection to Ohio State. The position builds and maintains relationships through in-person meetings, virtual engagement, phone outreach, and assigned programming consistent with established Alumni Association priorities.  The Engagement and Alumni Relations, Senior Associate develops and implements portfolio-level engagement plans that align with established Alumni Association goals, annual priorities, and engagement objectives. Core responsibilities include identifying, recruiting, training, and supporting volunteers and alumni leaders, advising on established governance, constitution, financial, reporting, and scholarship-related processes, coordinating university partner engagement opportunities, and supporting volunteer-led programming and initiatives.

The Assistant Director of Development and Affinity Engagement advances The Ohio State University’s philanthropic priorities by managing leadership annual giving relationships and using alumni and affinity engagement as a strategic pathway for donor identification, cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and pipeline development.  This hybrid position is primarily focused on cultivating and soliciting leadership annual gifts of $3,000 to $99,999, while also strengthening alumni and constituent relationships through engagement strategies that support fundraising outcomes and Advancement priorities.  As a member of the Connections team within the Ohio State University Alumni Association (OSUAA), the Assistant Director proactively manages an assigned portfolio of leadership annual giving donors and prospects through in-person visits, virtual outreach, engagement opportunities, and targeted cultivation activity.   The role emphasizes discovery, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of donors, identification and referral of future major gift prospects, and collaboration with volunteers and alumni leaders to advance fundraising and engagement strategies. The primary audiences for the Assistant Director include OSUAA affinity groups and Buckeye Connected Communities, with engagement activity intentionally focused on strengthening donor relationships, identifying prospective philanthropic support, and advancing leadership annual giving outcomes.

The Senior Writer for proposals and impact communications develops persuasive, donor-centered fundraising materials and meaningful impact and stewardship communications for major and principal gift audiences. The role leads writing for proposals, cases for support, impact reports and other highly personalized communications that connect donor interests with Ohio State priorities and demonstrate the outcomes of philanthropy. The senior writer researches, plans, writes, edits, proofs and manages the review of philanthropic communications that support cultivation, solicitation and stewardship. Serving as a content strategist and liaison for central/university Advancement, the writer translates complex academic and institutional priorities into clear, compelling narratives tailored to donor strategy, audience and stage of engagement.
